Woodland Friends

Back with a new post about my latest released pattern called “Woodland Friends”.  It is a small wall quilt approximately 29 inches square.  It is made with Lynette Anderson’s fabric called Wildflower Wood which is just gorgeous.   It features some cute little animals :- hedgehog, owl, fox, squirrel, & rabbit plus some cute little bugs.

There will be a coordinating project in Creating Country Threads which will be released this month.  I will have the pattern available on my website very soon and another small project that also goes with them which is still to be completed.  I will pop back when the project is released in the magazine to show you.

If you like the fabric visit the Little Quilt Store where some fabric bundles are available in the range.

Hope you get time for some stitching while the weather is still quite cold here!

Well it certainly has been a busy time here of late. Lots of stitching, running around & a little trip to Brisbane thrown in to the mix. I must be having fun as the time keeps flying by.

I meant to pop back and show a picture of my great newphew’s birthday present. It is so cute! The pattern is available from Funky Friends Factory and it is called “Plattie”. He was just perfect for his 1st Birthday present.

This next gift was made for my MIL’s birthday earlier in the year. She loved it!

My trip up to Brisbane was for Heavenly Patchwork’s annual Retreat, which is so much fun. This year the theme was “Amish” so I made a little gift for all the ladies again. It was a small pattern/kit for an Amish Star Brooch. This is what it looked like when completed. (It is the small black/bright star on the right of the picture).

We all dressed up for the evenings dinner in an Amish theme. My name was “Abraham”. There were 4 of us dressed as men the rest were lovely little Amish ladies. It was so much fun. I did take a few pictures on my phone but they won’t upload at the moment so you will just have to imagine what we looked like, sorry! I feel sorry for all those men out there with beards when it gets hot!!!!!!! We have a swap and this year it was an apron which had to be made in Homespun fabric. This is a picture of my apron as modelled reluctantly by hubbie!!!!! Looking forward to next years retreat.

I also designed a pattern in keeping with the theme and as some of the ladies are heading off to Pennsylvania later in the year I called it “Prairie Pincushions”. This will be available soon on my website.
