5 more sleeps!

My how quickly Christmas has come around. This is our Christmas tree (oops, cut off the angel on top!). Every year I buy/make one new Christmas decoration to add to our tree. Below are some of my favourite decorations that I’ve added to the collection.

These two are glass and are over 20 years old.

My next post will be after Christmas now as there is lots or organising to be done over the next few days. I’ll be back after Christmas with another post before we head off on a well-earned break mid January.
Wishing you all a “pieceful” Christmas with the ones you love and a safe New Year.

Christmas Wishes

This is a picture of the gorgeous little star my daughter made for her teacher at school this year. It is from a pattern by “The Birdhouse” by the very talented Natalie Bird. I was very impressed at her first attempt at doing applique (I can’t even see the stitches) and her teacher just loved it.
Hope you are getting all your Christmas stitching in order.

Tantalizing Threads!!

Hi, I’m back as promised with some pictures of my lovely new 6 strand, Colourfast Hand Overdyed Embroidery Threads from Valdani. I can’t wait to start stitching with them. Under each photo I will give their colour name. It is not a photo of all the threads I have, just a few. I have 23 different colours at this stage, but I’m sure that will expand as I won’t be able to help myself. I will eventually be adding them to my website in the new year. Enjoy!!

As pictured above in order from left to right : Vintage Pastels, Icy Leaves, Withered Green & Spring Leaves.

Blue Suave, Pastels & Lime Sherbert.

Some Christmas colours : Countryside, Garnets & Withered Green, again.

And last but not least : Silver Foam, Old Rose, Nantucket Rose & Heavenly Hue.
As all these threads are colourfast it will be a joy to stitch with them and not have to worry about the colours running when I wash my item. There are over 100 colours (some aren’t variegated) but they are still beautiful. I have used one of these threads in a project for Creating Country Threads that will come out next year and it was lovely to stitch with. I just love their names too!
May you have your Christmas shopping all “stitched” up this weekend!
