At last I’ve found the time to upload some sneaky pic’s of another article that will appear in Creating Country Threads next year.
I received a lovely package in the mail this week of Valdani Colourfast Hand Overdyed Threads that I will be using in my new quilt that is on the drawing board at the moment. I will show you some of them in my next post, (I promise!) They are very yummy!!
This project is currently at the quilters (thanks Jody) having some magic added to it. Jody is such a talented quilter, she can just look at a quilt and know what will work on it. I can’t wait to get it back so I can sew on the binding and post it off to the magazine, where they will then also add their flair at the photography stage. Hope I’ve left you a little intrigued! Back soon.
I was so excited today when I received a copy of Creating Country Threads in the mail to find my Favourite Recipe Journal “Teatime Memories” and a profile on Petals & Patches. It is a surreal feeling to be flicking through the pages of one of your favourite magazines and find pages with your own projects all photographed so beautifully. If you get a chance to see the magazine, it is Volume 10 No. 4, I hope you enjoy seeing some of my designs.
A big thanks to Danielle (The Editor of Creating Country Threads) for giving me the opportunity to showcase my designs in the magazine.
Stay tuned for some more projects coming in the future. I may even show you another peek later of one of the projects!
This is what I made with the lovely fabric by Saffron Craig called “Parrots”. It is a very sweet summer dress. I used a pattern from Simplicity that was rather easy to put together. Now I will make a bag to go with this outfit as well. Hope you like it, now it’s back to sewing.
Have a great weekend!
What a busy weekend, but I did have time to fit in some stitching. So here is what I made of one set of the fabrics I showed you on the last post.
Did you guess that this would be the outcome? I have one very happy little miss, her face lit up when she saw it completed!
Here is a close-up of the applique on the t-shirt! I may just have to make a bag to match with the few leftovers!
Now on to the other fabric, hmmmm I wonder what this will become!!!
Have a great week stitching!!
